Thicker than water

Kerry is very open about her upbringing and so of the challenges she has faced. I learnt a lot about the entertainment industry and he ambitions as a woman. I also learnt about how she overcame personal challenges. She also shares information about her husband and her family, nuclear and extended. It was heartbreaking to read about her mother and fathers aging. I would strongly recommend this memoir to anybody who wants to learn.

very admirable

I don't rate memoirs. I find it difficult to review someone's fears, thoughts, emotions, and true life events, and it's not my place to judge or diminish them as human beings.
Despite the many differences between Kerry and I, I found many similarities at the same time and could relate to her.

Kerry Washington shows remarkable bravery. It takes courage, strength, and vulnerability to put everything out. And shares share sides of yourself, not usually in the spotlight.

After playing different roles in movies and TV shows and sometimes losing parts of herself, she gets to be herself, not Olivia Pope, not Della Bea Robinson or Chenille but Kerry Washington. And she deserves to be seen.
