Michael Morpurgo, born on October 5, 1943, in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, is one of the UK’s most beloved authors, celebrated for his outstanding contributions to children’s literature. A former teacher, Morpurgo’s storytelling prowess has captivated readers for decades, earning him the prestigious 2003 Children's Laureate award.
