For years, rumors of the 'Marsh Girl' have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life - until the unthinkable happens.

Fantastic

Unlike anything I have ever read before, this book is a must-read! I fell in love with Kya Clark - a tenacious, resilient character who, despite her upbringing, educates herself and brings about change wherever she goes. Loved it!

A Slow Burn and A Surprising Twist

It pretty much takes forever to get to the actual meat of the story, but without the seemingly endless character building of the main character, Kya, and her relationship with the swamp, the impact of the story's main events fall flat. A well laid foundation makes for a riveting tale about love and betrayal and redemption. Can't wait for Reece to make this into the next binge-worthy series!
