They reflect the enthusiasm and dedication of each chef to combine the textures, flavours, aromas and visual appeal of nature’s produce, adding their own flair and natural ability, to create wonderful dishes that you can now recreate in your own kitchen. Traditional favouites such as bobotie and braai feature along with recipes using the best of local ingredients-karoo lamb, springbok, gemsbok, kudu, ostrich, crayfish from the West Coast, seafood from the ocean, freshwater fish from Lake Victoria in Tanzania, pineapples from the Western Cape, vanilla pods from Zanzibar, Kalahari truffles and not forgetting the world famous rooibos tea, all to whet your appetite.

An extraordinary book highlighting cooking skills of 32 highly talented and well trained Southern African chefs. Short details on their training and travels world wide invoke the respect that these chefs deserve.
The recipes are stylishly presented and most feature natural ingredients of Southern Africa: local produce and natural plants and herbs. Beautiful photos of the establishments and their natural surroundings conclude a totally mesmerizing book. It's the best one on my cooking book shelf! I can't wait to try out Veronica Canha-Hibbert's Steamed West Coast Crayfish or Delia Harbottle & Peter Tempelhoff's Smoked Franchhoek Rainbow Trout with Lemongrass Mayonnaise and Spring Rolls. What a feast of a cooking book!!
